What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a complete system of medicine with its own principles and remedies, just like traditional Chinese medicine and Indian Ayruvedic medicine.
Homeopathy evolved from a discovery made over 200 years ago about the healing properties from the bark from a Peruvian tree—the cinchona. When ingested, the bark causes symptoms similar to that of malaria. Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, found that giving this bark in a diluted homeopathic form actually cured the symptoms of malaria. In homeopathic medicine, this principle is known as “like cures like” or the “Law of Similars” and is the cornerstone for the use of the more than 4,000 homeopathic remedies available.
To decide upon a homeopathic remedy to be used, the homeopathic practitioner gathers pertinent information about your health on all levels—physical, mental, and emotional. Personality traits, fears and goals, likes and dislikes, all help the homeopath in selecting a suitable remedy.
Most homeopaths today use a computer program that contains volumes of homeopathic information that is used for cross-referencing and making the match.
Homeopaths are typically trained through a 4 year part-time program in the philosophy, materia medica, and clinical application of homeopathy. In countries throughout Europe and in India many medical doctors practice homeopathy. It is estimated that worldwide, 200 million people use homeopathy on a regular basis.
In addition to being trained in classical homeopathy, Ryan has additional training in homeopathic biotherapeutic drainage which is a system used for improving drainage of the detoxification organs.
Can I take homeopathic remedies along with my other medications?
Yes. Homeopathic remedies can be taken with prescription drugs without danger of interaction. You should not attempt to reduce or stop any prescribed medications without your doctor’s supervision.
Homeopathy is completely safe even for infants and pregnant women.
